Our Movable Mavens initiative spotlights expert marketers and the innovative work they’re doing to push the boundaries of their marketing programs. Each feature shares insights, strategies, and lessons from leaders who are shaping the future of personalized, data-driven marketing.

Fresh off Seven West Media's Sydney Maven Award win, we're putting the spotlight on Tom Kopsaris, CRM Specialist at Seven West Media!

With major sporting events bringing fans together, Tom and his team are finding creative ways to bring that same excitement to the inbox. We caught up with him to hear more about his approach to email marketing, the experiences his team is creating, and what keeps him excited about what's next.

‍

Favorite project you’ve worked on recently?

Working on the Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games was one of my favorite projects recently. As it only comes around every four years, driving awareness and engagement can be challenging. This allowed us to think creatively about how we could build excitement and encourage audiences to tune in across 7plus.

We implemented several Movable Ink elements that performed exceptionally well, and combined with the success of the event itself, this made it a standout campaign for the year.

‍

What are the main goals your team aims to achieve with your email program?

Our main goal is to drive engagement, increase streaming activity and improve the overall customer experience. We aim to incorporate innovative elements and test new approaches to set us apart from our competitors.

We have a mindset of continually pushing boundaries and trying things that haven't been done before, to capture our customers' attention and deliver a more enjoyable experience for our audience.

‍

What’s your favorite marketing strategy to use that always drives a quick win for your team?

Without a doubt, the live polling element! With our strong focus on sports content, it's a great way to encourage fans to actively engage with our emails while showing their support for their favorite teams.

It’s a simple but effective way to boost engagement and help our emails stand out.

‍

How would you describe your growth as a marketer over the past few years and what’s your proudest accomplishment thus far?

Over the past few years, I believe I’ve grown significantly as a marketer. With the marketing landscape constantly evolving, particularly with the rise of AI and new technologies, adaptability and a willingness to experiment are more important than ever.

My proudest accomplishment at Seven has been using Movable Ink to introduce live scoring across our email campaigns throughout last summer’s Ashes series, combining technology and creativity to deliver a more interactive experience for our audience.

‍

How do you get the most out of a partnership with a company like Movable Ink?

It may sound cliché, but don't be afraid to experiment with as many elements as possible, and don't be afraid to fail along the way.

When we first partnered with Movable Ink, we had to learn a completely new system, which meant testing different features and discovering what worked best for our audience.

Being open to experimentation, learning from the results and continually pushing creative boundaries has helped us get the most out of the partnership and deliver more engaging email experiences.
