Retail marketers prioritize email & personalization
Retailers’ top three priorities are email personalization, marketing automation and finding a new email service provider, in that order, according to a study by eTail. 20% of US retailers reported wanting to increase personalization in emails, while 13% will look to replace their ESP. Another 12% said their top priority was personalization of websites. eMarketer credits the focus on email to marketers claims that it results in high revenue at a lower cost.

Lodging & travel get the highest email open rates
According to a new email benchmark study from Silverpop, the Lodging and Travel industry gets the highest email open rates – at 56.7%. It also came in second for click-through rates at 15.2%.
The Food Service, Sports and Entertainment category was the weakest performer, at 5.5%.
