The Back End Engineer will be responsible for completing software design and implementation, and driving high-quality back-end system development with our Da Vinci product. The role offers the opportunity for innovation and impact through the development of sophisticated back-end systems, delivering value to the world’s biggest brands at an impressive scale.  You'll be joining a highly collaborative and thoughtful team, who delivers impactful products through written code.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and test backend services
  • Gain an understanding of existing systems, determine areas of complexity, and potential risks
  • Perform code and design reviews
  • Maintain a strong commitment to delivering high-quality software within established timelines; manage individual project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables with a focus on efficiency and attention to detail
  • Stay actively involved in ongoing maintenance of software
  • Work closely with other teams to determine requirements for your work and to make design decisions that affect our stack 

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of Python experience
  • Familiarity with GraphQL as well as GRPC
  • Demonstrate proficiency in back-end development concepts, including APIs, databases, and authentication/authorization mechanisms
  • Able to write design documents that identify requirements, dependencies, and risks
  • Practitioner with bias toward action/execution/building
  • Interest in learning additional technologies such as Elixir
  • Having working knowledge of DevOps practices, such as continuous integration/continuous delivery and automated deployment
  • Proficient in database management, including designing database schema and crafting efficient queries
  • Ability to collaborate with technical partners
  • Works effectively in a fast-paced, goal-driven environment
