Payroll and HRIS Manager

Movable Ink is seeking a Payroll Professional who’s eager to learn and develop within a fast-paced, rapidly growing organization to fill the role of Payroll & HRIS Manager, reporting to the Associate Director, Payroll.  


  • Responsible for the payroll processing of all Movable Ink locations (US, Canada, UK, Australia, Costa Rica, Germany)
  • Partner with ADP, People Team and Associate Director to maintain Movable Ink's HRIS system - including system integrations and other system enhancements
  • Set up, process, and maintain changes to an employee’s voluntary and involuntary deductions 
  • Responsible for 1st level review of payroll for accuracy before presenting the cycle for approval to accept
  • Prepare payroll funding requests 
  • Responsible for reconciliation and funding of benefit deductions (401k, FSA, HSA, etc.) 
  • Responsible for reconciling payroll funding to Bank activity for the purpose of Payroll Journal Entries 
  • Lead the annual Workers Comp and 401k audits
  • Act as First line of contact for employee payroll inquires
  • Maintain various payroll schedules and reconciliations for Accounting Department 
  • Manage the Time and Attendance system for Non-Exempt Employees
  • Explore, recommend, and support system functionality 
  • Responsible for the design and distribution of standard and ad hoc reports for business partners. 
  • Assist with special projects as needed
  • Manage the development, modification, and maintenance of Payroll / HRIS processes, procedures, documentation.


  • Experience with a fast-paced, growing start-up is a plus
  • Prior experience with ADP Outsourced services 
  • ADP Workforce Now System experience
  • Experience processing payroll of +500 employees in multiple locations
  • Ability to multi-Task and meet strict deadlines
  • 5+ years of Payroll management experience
  • Ability to execute, follow-up, and ensure attention to detail
  • Ability to effectively communicate to all levels of the organization
  • Proficiency with Microsoft tools (Excel, Word) is required
